Business Strategy
Our multi-million dollar client had the following goals:
1) Upgrade and replace its current Windows
95/98/NT workstations to Windows 2000, thereby improving
nation-wide application compatibility.
2) Manage nation-wide operations from the
various divisional offices
3) To strengthen overall nation-wide compatibility
within corporate and franchised locations.
To reach these goals, a coordinated effort was required
that would affect over 5000 users, 300 business units and
over 50 off-site locations throughout the country.
Project Analysis
Due to the high level of IT Professionals needed to seamlessly
execute its goals, the client hired Technical Solutions
Group to supply nation-wide IT talent.
TSG responded by sweeping the various regions for consultants
that met the clients specific needs. Because the client
had multiple locations and operating systems, flexible and
seasoned consultants were key to our recruiting efforts.
Also with a solid understanding of the client’s culture
and environment, Technical Solutions Group assembled a team
of IT professionals to compliment the client’s existing
staff.
TSG provided 3 Project Managers, 5 Project Leads and 50+
nation-wide Network Technicians to help migrate desktop
PC’s from Windows 95/98/NT to Windows 2000. The migrations
involved re-imaging, replacing and installing new PC’s
throughout the company.
Overall Benefit
Technical Solutions Group finished the entire migration
ahead of time and under budget. Downtime for the various
locations nation-wide was zero, as migrations were completed
during non-office hours. In turn our client was able to
meet its goal of achieving application compatibility.
